The Program
My interest in cattle came from my time in the south and my decision on Simmental-influenced cattle came after studying several breeds and finding my personal philosophies most closely relate to the motto of the American Simmental Association, "Profit Through Science." I have never been one to follow the crowd, so tradition has never been a driver for me; I feel new generation breeds like Simbrah and other Simmental-influenced stock are the only logical choice for anyone interested in building better cattle Objectively and generating greater returns. Our cattle are Measured in every possible way, from stock scales to genomic testing. Most of all, we value the God-given traits like Maternal Ability that Simmental-influenced cattle bring to the industry. You can count on cattle that carry the YSG prefix to excel in the pasture raising the right type and kind to keep your program in business for the long haul.
The Herd
We have had a short history raising genomic and performance outliers in other breeds, including Angus. However, our focus today is on SimGenetics and cattle that fit the southern climate. Check back here in the future as the program grows.
For Sale
Throughout the year we offer genetics for sale; be it live cattle, frozen embryos or flush opportunities. If you're interested in specific stock and matings, contact us though the online form found at the bottom of this website.
About the Owner
My name is Dr. Yuri Lawrence, a first generation American, born of Jamaican immigrants in north central Connecticut. I am a lover of all animals and designed my education to pursue this interest.
I hold two doctorates and my degrees come from Middlebury College, Boston University, Tufts University (DVM), North Carolina State, Oregon State and Texas A&M (PhD). My expertise is animal science and I currently work as a small animal internal medicine veterinary specialist in downtown
Austin, TX.
I enjoy traveling the globe and have spent a great amount of time in Europe furthering my professional training. I am an avid runner and have become very crafty in my downtime, masting DIY projects around the house. I look forward to meeting you and your family in the future.
